Top 5+ Netflix Favorites

My Netflix favorites are a mix of suspense, period dramas, and the occasional girl that leaves the city for small town living. (Haha) I’ve seen a number of shows on Netflix over the years and these are the ones that standout and are the shows I’m constantly referring. I will continue to add to this list if I come across others. I love hearing about show recommendations from friends, this is why I am sharing my favorites with you.

Top 5 Netflix Favorites

  1. The Break (2 Seasons) – This is a suspenseful Belgium based drama where each season is a different and intense storyline. It’s about a police detective who returns back to his hometown and drawn into a murder case that stirs up dark secrets. The story continues to be solved over the course of the season and with a surprising twist at the end that you could never seen coming.
  2. Broadchurch (3 Seasons) – This is another suspenseful drama with a storyline that ties into each season. The small town murder of a young boy puts detectives on a case that brings many of the towns residents in for investigation. I wonder if you can predict how it turns out. Each episode keeps you wanting to learn more.
  3. The English Game (1 Season) – This one is my newest favorite about the history of how soccer (football) was first started. It’s a Period Drama style, which I love. Really gives good insights on how the game evolved and how it very much is a game of the people. Makes me want to travel to England to go watch some games.
  4. Virgin River (2 Seasons) – In this show, a young doctor moves away from the city to a small town for a fresh start. It’s a romantic drama and this is the first season of hopefully many. I’ve already watched it twice and might watch it again. It’s a really wholesome show and the love story is adorable. One can dream.
  5. Ozark (3 Seasons) – This is a fictional series about a family who works for a drug cartel to help launder money that comes in. It’s wild. I really like Jason Bateman and the family drama is just unreal, the acting is great.
  6. Narcos (3 Seasons) – This is my 5+ option. I talked about this one already in my True Crime Netflix Favorites. It’s a docuseries about the drug wars that took place in the 1970s-1980s. It’s interesting to learn the history of events told in a story format as many of these events took place while I was growing up. I even vaguely remember hearing about them on the news at the time.
