Peppermint is the perfect minty aroma and a really powerful one too! One of the reasons I chose Young Living essential oils is because of it’s authenticity and it’s Seed to Seal Promise. Young Living essential oils are the most pure and therapeutic oils on the market. Just do a scent test with Young Living’s Peppermint. Compare it to any other Peppermint essential oils on the market and you will be able to smell for yourself. I’ve even had people tell me, wow, this smells nothing like the Peppermint I bought.
For this reason, it is very important to use essential oils with safety and care. The oils are very potent and it’s best to start slow. Read my post here on essential oil safety. Always, always dilute oils with a carrier oil when it calls for it. It’s always best to dilute oils to start in order to understand how they work for you. And when using Peppermint oil, diluting is very important. Peppermint is a cool, chilling oil and when applied it gives a cooling, tingling sensation.
This invigorating, minty, herbal, refreshing essential oil can be used for the following:
- Headaches – dilute and rub a few drops onto your temples
- Stomachache – dilute and rub a few drops under belly button
- Gum replacement – put some drops in a small dram and carry in purse
- Alertness – use on it’s own or mix with other oils to stimulate, focus, and stay awake
- Refreshing experience – add drops to shampoo and use after a hot day in the sun or inhale directly from the bottle
- Fatigue – use after workout or physical activity to cool sore muscles
The uses of peppermint go on and on. One of my favorite uses is to make roller blends with this essential oil. Some rollers I make are mixed with lemon or orange and they are great for alertness, especially on the road. My speciality Wanderlust Blend is 10 drops of orange and peppermint mixed with coconut carrier oil. SO refreshing and fuels my ever wandering heart.
