I’ve been decorating for a white Christmas ever since we’ve had our first snow in Michigan at the BEGINNING of November?! Who does that. Since when does it snow that early and since when do I ever decorate for Christmas that early. So it began. Just wanted to share some of these favorite finds with you. Something about the color white that brightens and simplifies a room. White is a very simple color so it’s fun to add different textures and its really pretty how other accent colors you use start to really pop out. Use wools, ceramics, lace, knits, sherpa, faux snow etc. to add the extra cozy and make a space you want to curl up in.
White is such a magical color, the color of snow, and when the sun hits it just right it starts to glisten and sparkle. Keep this in mind as you plan a white Christmas indoors…clean and pure and consider adding evergreens to really bring the outdoors in.
I bought the tree in this post last year and just put it up. It looks like something straight out of the woods on a snowy day. I can’t wait to add lights to it to make it shine and light up the room. The ceramic houses are also a favorite and I actually have them up year round. I love the canal houses in Amsterdam and these remind me of them. I also love that they are versatile year round making them a practical purchase.
You may or may not know that I’m a knitter. Therefore, I am always drawn to a nice chunky yarn and the cozy texture of wool and textiles. The stockings I MIGHT be able to knit myself. However, by the time I buy materials and need them for Christmas it’s easier to purchase! It would be fun to buy white stockings in different patterns and mix and match them over the fireplace. Just an idea.
Watch for these items to go on sale, they will. I will never pay full price for anything and you can get a good bargin if you wait. I hope some of these items inspire you to bring the magic of a white Christmas into your home!
