The hauntingly, beautiful Daphne du Maurier books

To all of my Daphne du Maurier fans out there, I’m glad you’re here.

For all of you who do not know Daphne..this post is for you! Looking for new (old) book suggestions? 1930’s. Mystery. Mystique. Curiosity. And sometimes, well, most of the time, flat out disbelief. I admit, she might not be for everybody. But wow, if you are not familiar with her you are missing out. At least give her a try to find out what all this talk is about.

Yes, I said 1930’s. I may be an old soul but her writing style is so captivating and somewhat abrupt that she fully engages me every time. Even to the point where I slam the book shut and think to myself, “she did not???” Oh my, she really did! By the end of the book I’m often left totally caught off guard and in complete shock. She is just so unpredictable and so interesting I keep coming back for more.

Most of her books are set in the stunningly, beautiful Cornwall, England. Because of the way she writes she has this amazing ability to describe the landscapes so vividly you’ll feel like you are there. Since I have read so many of her novels I now want to vacation there to see what she writes about.

I enjoy her writing so much I think I own almost all of her books. All of the copies, damaged and tattered. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. It just shows that over the course of time they have gotten some good use in. And it adds so much more character to my library of books.

Here is a list of books to chose from.
